Well once again I absolved myself from all the insults over the use of the Epee by organising the one hit Epee event. I must say it was great fun, despite Bladegirl ruining my chances of regaining  the title by a deliberate double hit. I was amazed this year by the lack of double hits, only 3 in total. Does this mean we are getting better or worse.

Anyway, congratulations to the Apprentice Tom, AKA 32" Blade, and Also to Bladegirl for her win in the knock out stage.

How to improve on this....well my thoughts while sipping some nettle beer is to get back to the roots of Dueling. For a start, the fight should take place outside at Dawn. That will stop it being so hot, especially if an eerie mist covers the ground.  Does anyone know what time dawn is ?..someone is bound to use that as an excuse to be late. I know this will prevent under 18s taking place, but I think after each fight an alcoholic drink should be had in the form of a formal toast to each combatant. Finally a choice of weapon, need an electronics expert for that.

Talking of which, Tom is looking to rebuild an old USSR spool and is need of some old thin 3 phase wire. If anyone knows of anyone please get in contact.
